I posted on my blog about the fact that I love the 8.5×11 photobook size and the reasons why. Now I don’t know if others prefer the medium size as landscape rather than portrait, or the 8×10 rather than the 8.5×11 but I was surprised to see that the percentage preference today was 52% for the medium. I WISH more companies would provide 8.5×11 portrait. Right now, Mixbook and Presto Photo are the only reasonably priced ones on the market. So sad.

Hi Devon,
You and I like the same type of book! I’m a portrait lover myself. I had thought about separating the options to get more detail, but I wanted to keep it as simple as possible. I venture to guess that the 8.5 x 11 landscape is what a lot of people do – it’s the most common and the most available. Companies probably find that it’s their best selling size most likely so that’s what they offer. Perhaps with more customers asking for it, it may become more available. Blurb makes an 8 x 10 portrait, but I do think the 8.5 x 11 seems more preferable. Maybe we’re used to a standard sheet of paper being that size. I will check out your blog. I’ve always wanted to have a more complete family tree, but it’s a bit harder when dealing with foreign countries and not being able to read the language. 🙂
Howdy!
