I’ve written a number of posts on custom children’s books and a number of posts on wedding related albums, however this about a merging of the two in such a fun a creative way. Making the rounds recently on social media, Today.com and the Huffington Post is the story of a creative marriage proposal in storybook form.

When Chicagoan Jason Methner decided he was going to pop the question, he knew he wanted to do it creatively, so he enlisted the help of a friend, an animator, to illustrate a story he’d written about a tortoise and a hare. The tortoise bears a resemblance to the groom-to-be and the bunny happens to be his girlfriend’s favorite animal. Needless to say the story ends with a proposal. After much careful planning, Methner planted the custom children’s book in the public library and set out to surprise his girlfriend. She said “Yes!”
The article doesn’t say where Methner got his custom book printed, but what a creative proposal and a creative use of a personalized book. Best wishes to the newly engaged couple!
Thanks to my brother for sending me this story!
