I can’t believe we are into November already – where did the year go? Don’t we say this every year though? Thanksgiving is drawing near and I’m taking stock of where I am with my holiday gifts and other seasonal prep. I’m happy to note that my holiday cards are done! (and I got some of them for free by taking advantage of the card freebies that have come up since fall started!) Be sure to check out my holiday photo card guide complete with a side-by-side price comparison across several companies!
I still have to get started on the custom calendars I’ve been making for the whole family for the last three years now. What’s great is that I can make one main calendar and then make a duplicate copy to tweak for each side of the family. I love that I can focus on making a single design but still personalize it as much as I want for the recipient without too much additional effort.
At this time of year I also usually make several photo books as gifts, especially for the grandparents who love to see photos of Photo Book Baby’s year. Since my folks aren’t on Facebook (thankfully), they rarely see any family photos so a yearly photo book is great for them to reminisce. My mom in particular loves my photo books (haha moms always love something made by their kids right?) and I know she looks forward to getting them each year. I also make a book of Photo Book Baby for myself and a copy for him to keep when he grows up (don’t grow up too fast please!)
In terms of prepping for the holiday season with regards to this site, I’ve been hard at work, reviewing, researching, and updating my Ultimate Holiday Gift Guide 2014, with new products, new prices and new companies added to my beloved comparison charts. (Yes, I’m a little chart happy.) I’ve done the research so you don’t have to! Hands down, custom photo gifts are my favorite gift to give and receive, so if you’ve been thinking hard about what to get the folks on your list, be sure to check it out!
