How to Maximize your Savings with Picaboo Groupons and other Picaboo Deals

***New UPDATE: 11/15/2010 – Note that combining your Groupon with any current promo will only work with the $25 for $100 Groupon.  Since the time of this original post, Picaboo issued two other versions of their Groupon.  If you have the $25 for $75 Groupon or the $35 for $100 Groupon, it cannot be combined with other promos according to Picaboo and Groupon.***

***New UPDATE: 10/14/2010 – Check here if you’re looking for the latest Picaboo Groupon.  Or check out the latest photo book Groupon – we check across all cities to find the best deals!***

***UPDATE: 9/24 – 9/26/2010: Check out this post for the current 3-day Picaboo Groupon!***

(PLEASE NOTE: The tips below were tested by me and other readers and will work with any Picaboo Groupon purchased for $25 for $100 worth of products and will continue to work all the way through the expiration date of your Groupon.  This has been confirmed by Picaboo customer support.  Apparently however, the newer Picaboo Groupon ($25 for $75 of goods), will not work with other Picaboo promotions.  I do encourage you to try it however as it doesn’t hurt to try…Please let me know if it works for you so we can share the info!)

Picaboo Groupons have been popping up in several cities!  Seems like every time I turn around there’s another awesome deal for $100 worth of photo books for $25.00.  What’s great is Picaboo allows you to combine the offers for some ridiculous savings.  I’ve gotten questions from our Facebook fans about this and I thought I’d share my responses with you.  While I can’t make any guarantees, what I can say is two readers have tried it and it works! I don’t think you’ll be able to put 2 coupon codes in. The only reason why I believe the Groupon and free book coupon code work together is that the Groupon is typed in as a gift certificate in a separate box from the coupon code. But it doesn’t hurt to try and if you try it and it works, please comment again and let us know! 🙂

I just tried with the newer groupon $100, which was redeemable after 10/19. ;-( Everything looked like on your pictures here. I first applied the coupon code for discount, then I tried to pay with the gift card – Picaboo message popped up – the groupon can not be used with any promo, do you want to use your coupon or the Groupon? Oh well… still a great deal.

Yeah, bummer on combining the deals huh? I just recently confirmed with Picaboo customer service that the only Groupon that can be combined is the first version ($25 for $100). Those Groupons will begin with “GR” in the code. Having only bought the first version, I don’t know what the later ones are coded. Yes, the Groupons are the best deals I’ve seen save for the free book offers Picaboo has. There was one in August which I did and there’s a FREE 20 page book deal currently running through 10/25 – I hope you did your free book! Hope to hear what you think about Picaboo after your book arrives…

Hi! Your site is helpful and inspiring!
Do you happen to know… I’ve used Blurb.com in the past for books, and they have the functionality that others can order your book. I’m assuming (without knowing, and that means we get into the whole “ASS of U and ME” thing!) that Picaboo would allow me to design a book, and then family members to order it. And I further assume (/hope!) that if they were to buy the Groupon available in Salt Lake City today …- $35 for $100) they’d be able to use it towards buying the book I’m designing? (it’s a memorial album for our recently passed grandma)
Please let me know if you have any insights, and KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

      Hi Lina,

Sorry for the late response, but good news is that the Picaboo Groupon is being offered in Dallas today :). The Groupon Tracker has pulled it up today so you and your family can still take advantage of the Groupon. I know you can share your book, but the share function is more like a preview than actually sharing the book file that resides on your computer. So, you’d probably have to send the .boox file of your book which is the file extension for your Picaboo books. You could put it up on an FTP server so that your family could go there to download it and there are free sites that allow you transfer files. If you go to Picaboo’s site you can find this Q&A on it. So your family can download their own Picaboo software and then download your .boox file. So I don’t see why it wouldn’t work for everyone to buy their own Groupon to order your memorial book. Your album sounds very special and I’m sure your family will appreciate it very much. Hope this helps. If you want to know for sure, the Picaboo chat is very helpful – they just don’t happen to be there right now (til 8pm PST)! I guess they’re sleeping like most normal folks!

Can I use two picaboo groupons, bought at different times, combined to pay for one book? My book is $180 and I have two separate groupons for $100 each. Thanks I cant find this answer anywhere!

Hi Sarah – no unfortunately, you cannot combine two Picaboo Groupons to pay for one book. None of the companies that offer photo book Groupons to my knowledge allow you to combine more than one Groupon. But Groupons are still some of the best deals out there on photo books in general!

Companies change their policies from time to time. At present time they may have changed it so you cannot use both. Most companies now do not allow you to use both unfortunately. The only company lately where I’ve been able to do that is Shutterfly.
