The first day of fall is upon us and I’ve been eagerly anticipating the change in colors. Every morning the first thing I see outside is the beautiful Autumn Blaze maple we have outside our bathroom window. It’s already turning the slightest orange at the tips. I love seeing it undergo the changes throughout our Midwestern seasons. Recalling the marvelously colorful transformation of our surroundings helps ease the pain of the sometimes harsh, dreary winter days (at least that’s what I tell myself when we’re the in midst of it). Today however, winter is a distant thought – given that my car is reading 99 degrees on this ridiculously hot September day.
