Weeks 23 & 24 down, 28 to go!
Weeks 23 and 24 just flew by (if you’re keeping count, yes I’m a bit behind on posting my 365 project, but be assured – it’s still going on!) I’m glad I decided to do this 365 project as well as write posts on it, because you keep me accountable! When I get ready to do my progress posts, I narrow down my photos to the cream of the crop and write a brief descriptive title for the photo I plan to use that day. If I’m not sure which one will make the daily cut, I don’t stress about it, I just note down the two possibilities and then move on. I also use the iPhoto (the free photo organization/editing tool) album tool to drag thumbnails of the photos I want to save for my 365 project so they are always in one spot and separated from the hundreds of photos I take every week, so I won’t be overwhelmed at year’s end.
This past week I got an exciting half-year preview of what my 365 project will look like – I did an Instagram book with Blurb. I picked up some good tips along the way about the resolution of my photos as well. Read more about my Blurb book (and GIVEAWAY) here. (Make sure you enter by 7/8.)
I took a brief break from photo book making (I know shocking!) and played with iMovie again. If you’re not familiar, iMovie (Mac program) allows you to make home movies from snapshots and video clips. Add some titles and cool transitions and music and “voila” – cool video to share with the family. This most recent iMovie project was for my cousin’s graduation from college. I’m also working on a photo book for him. I figure that I’ll burn the video to DVD and then affix a DVD sleeve to the inside of the photo book, just like those books that sometimes come with a bonus DVD or CD. Nice huh?
I also took advantage of the free thank you card deal that Shutterfly ran last week. I wrote about that in my last deals post. Did you try it out as well? I’m getting the cards ready since PhotoBookBaby is turning one soon and I’ll use them for his party’s thank yous. I love how they turned out!
Enjoy the summer and Happy Photobooking!
Stay in the loop!
