Week 8 down, 44 to go!
I’m a little late in posting my fave photo from Week 8, as it’s been a rough couple weeks in Photobookland. PhotoBookBaby caught his first cold and then a week later hubs and I got sick too. These photos were taken right before he showed symptoms – by that night the poor guy was miserable with a nose running like a faucet. We had several sleepless nights which lowered our immunities and we fell victim to the winter cold as well. We’re all doing good now, but I still haven’t gotten my sense of smell back since my sinuses are still intermittently stuffy.
Anyhoos, this “photo shoot” was of baby’s first visit to Grandma and Grandpa’s. I couldn’t pick just one photo – there were so many favorites so I cheated a little by turning four photos into one. After post-processing the photos individually, I used this free photo manipulation tool called PhotoFunia to create this quick and easy retro style photobooth strip. They’ve got lots of fun and creative effects that you can use with your photos. The retro filter is built in to this particular effect so I didn’t have to do any special tweaking (you can also opt to keep your processing normal). It reminds me of my old baby photos, many of which are square in format and faded with time. The retro look is very popular as of late and folks want to achieve that vintage look without having to wait for decades. It’s pretty easy to find free Photoshop actions to automatically “retrofy” your photos and if you don’t have Photoshop, you can check out photo manipulation sites like Instagram or PhotoFunia for a quick fix. Not all my photos I’m using for my 365 project are manipulated, I guess I happen to choose to post a lot of the ones that happen to be processed in this way.
I hope you are all in good health and keeping up with your 365 project! Don’t forget to enter my most recent giveaway!
