It’s long overdue for a deals post don’t you think? I was tied up making my mom a Mother’s Day book. Did you make your mom a photo book? I tried my best to get mine done in time, but my plans got more grandiose as I went along – so I figured I’d rather make a really special book that will come a little late than a rushed one. I have another part to my gift, so I’ll give it in two parts.

I did my Mother’s Day book with Blurb and thought I would be ordering the lustre paper since I hadn’t tried it yet.  Turns out they have some interesting new ProLine options including ProLine Pearl paper and ProLine Uncoated paper and the upgrades were very reasonably priced.  There are also new endsheet options and linen cover options too.  So, I couldn’t decide between the two pro papers and since I was ordering one for my mom and one for me, I ended up ordering two books, each with the different pro papers (you know how I love paper!) so I could compare the two for you.  New Blurb Review coming soon!

A great option for last minute gifts for mom or anyone is a photo book gift certificatesee below!  Some other last minute ideas below as well…

Also, it’s time to start thinking about Father’s Day gifts!  Father’s Day is June 19, 2011!  Plus don’t forget those Grads!

Need a last minute Mother’s Day Gift?

Get 30% off gift certificates! (Also a good idea to stock up for future use.)

*Please note that recently MyPublisher changed its policy and you can no longer combine gift certificates with current promos.  A couple readers contacted MyPublisher directly and they were allowed to use their gift certificates along with current promo, but that may be on a case by case basis – I recommend trying the chat feature on the site for the quickest response, but chances are you will not be able to combine them.  I looked back at my own certificate purchases from last year and they did say, “may not be used or redeemed in conjunction with additional promotional offers”, so I think it was just a loophole that unfortunately for us was closed.

Coupon Code: MOMGIFT30

Deal Expires: 5/8/2011 (11:59 PST)

By the way, for new customers, you can get a Buy One Get One FREE deal (or Buy 2 get 2 etc).

This photo was taken in Japan about 2 years ago – these are some Japanese sweets with cartoons of political figures on the packaging – one is Obama and the other is a former Japanese prime minister – very colorful and eye-catching aren’t they?

I noticed there is a groupon deal for Photobook America. I would love to purchase one but I live in Canada. Are the coupons good to use for Photobook Canada too?

A couple photo book companies have said that they will honor the Groupon from another country than where you live as long as their company ships there – but each one is different. You could contact Photobook America/Canada customer service to see if they will honor it. From my recollection Picaboo has said no problem and so has Inkubook, but it is a company specific policy so to be safe I would recommend confirming directly with the company.

      Hi Phil,

Another reader asked the same question and checked with customer service. Unfortunately no, you cannot for this specific company, but with other companies you can – so it is on a case-by-case basis. Stay tuned to my blog – I’m sure there will be something coming up soon for Photobook Canada fans :)
