Snapfish a division of HP (Hewlett Packard) is a well known online photo service started in 2004. According to Snapfish’s site, they have more than 85 million members in more than 22 countries worldwide. In addition to photo books, Snapfish offers a variety of photo products including: invitations, address labels, magnets, prints, puzzles, mugs, photo skins.
Snapfish offers both hardcover and softcover photo books in both landscape and square orientation. Snapfish’s software is online, so you upload your photos to their site and as with most sites nowadays, you can share and store your photos for free. (UPDATE: 7/1/2012 - Snapfish now offers lay-flat pages.(UPDATE: 4/2014 - Snapfish now offers hinged lay-flat pages as a free upgrade.
Snapfish’s book making software is easy to use and is geared towards making a more simple photo book as the layouts are not customizable.
Starting in Summer 2010, Snapfish is launching Snapfish Publisher a platform that will allow designers and developers to sell their designs, apps and products to Snapfish users.
